A child is a bundle of joy, But is there still preference in gender?

I personally will welcome whichever the lord gives me whole heartedly and gratefully, but there is this feeling that a typical Nigerian man always wants a son for his first child, I think I may be guilty of this too. Buts that is just my opinion, what is your take on this?.
