Okada rider dies in road accident on new year

    
A motorcycle rider was confirmed dead in a road accident along Akure-Owo Expressway on New Year day.

It was learnt that the accident involved a petrol tanker, marked, SA 016 EKA, which was parked beside the road and Peugeot 504 saloon car with number plate, Bauchi AL 308 BSA, and the unregistered Suzuki Ajuoe motorcycle.

Eyewitnesses said the Peugeot went out of control and hit the motorcycle, which in turn rammed into the stationary tanker, killing the rider instantly and injuring three other persons.

It was learnt that the injured were taken to the Ondo State Specialist Hospital, Akure for treatment, while the corpse of the rider had been deposited at the mortuary of the hospital.
