Mother and granddaughter kidnapped in Bayelsa

The 74-year-old mother of the Paramount Ruler of Agrisaba Community in Nembe local government area of Bayelsa State, Mrs. Ikhiogha Samuel Walter and her granddaughter, Miss Yellow Tamuno Joseph, 24,  have been kidnapped by unknown gunmen.

The kidnapped woman is the mother of the Obanema of Agrisaba, H.R.H, M.S.Walter Agiri, who was appointed few months ago after some chieftaincy crises in the community.

it was gathered that the aged woman and her granddaughter were kidnapped at about 6.30am on Sunday by gunmen who arrived at the community in two gun boats.

A senior security source said that the abduction of the king’s mother and her granddaughter is currently generating tension in the community.

The security source also confirmed that one person have been arrested in connection with the kidnap.
