Niger State Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has expressed profound sadness over the brutal terrorist attack on communities in Borgu Local Government Area, describing it as a cruel and nefarious act that claimed numerous lives, led to several kidnappings, and destroyed livelihoods. In a statement released through his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, the governor extended his deepest condolences to the affected communities, particularly the victims and their families. He highlighted that the victims of the attack at Kasuwan Daji Market in Sukumbara Village included both Muslims and Christians from various communities in Borgu LGA, underscoring the indiscriminate nature of the violence.Governor Bago noted that it is deeply disturbing to begin the new year with such tragic incidents. However, he urged residents to remain steadfast in faith, assuring them that his administration is working closely with the federal government and security agencies to enhance protection in the impacted areas. He revealed that a joint security team is actively pursuing the terrorists to rescue the abducted victims. The governor offered prayers for the repose of the souls of the deceased, the safe return of those kidnapped, healing for the injured, and the restoration of destroyed livelihoods.
