FCT polls: Lots of result sheets were tampered with – ActionAid

 The Country Director of ActionAid, Andrew Mamedu, has said many result sheets were tampered with in the just concluded FCT Area Council election.Mamedu made this revelation on Monday on Arise Television’s ‘Morning Show’, stressing that some results uploaded were not visible.The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, conducted the FCT Area Council polls over the weekend.The ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, clinched five Area Councils including AMAC, Bwari, Kwali, Kuje and Abaji Area Councils. The People Democratic Party, PDP, won in Gwagwalada Area Council.Airing his views on the election, Mamedu said, “We saw a good number of result sheets tampered with. Some results uploaded were not visible.“We are aware of some polling units where only seven people came out to vote. Polls closed by 2:30 pm but the BVAS upload of results sheets didn’t come in until late in the evening. Nigerians need to demand more from INEC.”
