2027: ADC Begins Governorship Primaries in Rivers State

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Rivers State has officially kicked off its governorship primary election across the state.The exercise is taking place on Friday, May 22, 2026, in all 319 wards of Rivers State, using the Option A4 voting system.Members of the party’s National Election Committee (NEC) are on ground to supervise the process.Prior to the commencement of the primaries, two of the seven governorship aspirants stepped down in support of Gabriel Pidomson, a former member of the Rivers State House of Assembly and one-time Secretary to the Rivers State Government.One of the aspirants who withdrew is Henry Ugboma.The remaining candidates in the contest are Sokonte Davies, Farah Dagogo, Leloonu Nwibubasa, Allen Hart, and Gabriel Pidomson.
