Federal Ministry of Works building caught fire yesterday - No lives was lost

An evening fire on Tuesday engulf the Federal Ministry of Works building at the back of Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos Island.

Spokesman, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Mr Ibrahim Farinloye in a text message to Daily Times said, "Fire was said to have started around 5:00 p.m before alert was raised and federal and state fire service had put off the fire.

"The fire affected part of ground floor that housed Federal Ministry of Work, Productivity, Bank of Industries (Cooperatives section).

"The fire was off at about 7:00 p.m. No casualties or anyone injured." - DailyTimes
