Al-Shabab strikes AU base in Somalia

Somalia’s al-Shabab fighters have attacked African Union soldiers’ main base in in the capital Mogadishu, according to witnesses. They reported explosions and heavy gunfire at the base on Thursday but gave no details about casualties. Some fighters might have entered the compound, the witnesses said.
