SSS Arrests Operators Of Radio Biafra

Nigeria’s broadcasting industry regulator, the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) has said that it has confiscated transmitters being used by the controversial Radio Biafra across the South east, thereby effectively neutralizing illegal broadcasts from the radio station. NBC also claimed it has arrested operators of the radio station while it was working to stop the transmission through the internet. The Director General of NBC, Emeka Mba said this in a statement released today in Abuja. He also disclosed that the brains behind the radio station are currently being interrogated by security operatives. It will be recalled that the government had earlier said it has confiscated the transmitters of the radio stations, but the directors released a press statement shortly after that to say it was untrue and they are still very much transmitting.
