Gunmen Kill Health Workers in Kano

Armed men on Friday morning attacked health centers in filin Kashew, Ungwa-Uku area of Kano state.
 
Reports state that the assailants came on a motor tricycle killing people including 3 female immunization officers. Those injured in the attack have been taken to the hospital.
 
The Police is yet to make a statement on the incident.
 
Northern Nigeria’s Muslim leaders have opposed polio vaccinations, claiming they could cause infertility.
 
The attack will likely set back efforts by global health organizations and the government to eradicate polio in Nigeria.
