Two PDP Chieftains Killed In Borno

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftains in Borno State are in a state of apprehension following the killing of two party head honchos by unknown gunmen on Monday.

Those killed are Alhaji Ibrahim Usman Gula (PDP), who until his death was the zonal Vice Chairman, Borno South and Hajiya Gambo (Woman Leader, PDP Shehuri North Ward).

While Gula was shot in the head soon after the Isha’i prayer at his house along Maiduguri International Hotel road, the woman leader was almost in the same fashion, trailed to her house at Shehuri North, also in Maiduguri and shot dead.

“All of them were killed at night,” a source said, pointing out that they actively took part in all the activities that took place when President Goodluck Jonathan visited Borno State between Thursday and Friday last week.

“These killings are a clear case of cold blooded murder and are condemnable. Security agents must unravel,” the official, who craved for anonymity, said.

There was no official statement on the two incidences from the police as police spokesman DSP Gideon Jibrin could not be reached by phone.

Meanwhile, the two victims have been buried yesterday (Tuesday) according to Islamic rites.
