Man nabbed with $540,000 at Lagos airport

Lagos — Operatives of Nigerian Customs Service, NCS, Murtala Muhammed International Airport Command, Tuesday, arrested a passenger with $540,000 aboard an Emirates flight on his way to Dubai.

Speaking on the arrest, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Mrs. Thelma Williams, who identified the passenger as Mr. Apampa Fatai Adeshina with passport number AO3445111, said the passenger had refused to declare the actual sum of money in his possession and could not convince the officers of NCS on the source of the currency he was travelling with.

She said the passenger and money have been handed over to Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
