"Bomb in a Bottle" detonated in Gombe Main Market

A device, suspected to be explosives and planted by unknown persons around Gombe Main market, was yesterday detonated by the Police.

Gombe State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Fwaji Attajiri said unknown persons planted a sealed bottle containing an explosive close to Gombe ECWA 2 Church around the market.

DSP Attajiri explained that the suspected device was discovered by people around the area who quickly informed the police who cordoned off the area while a team of experts was immediately deployed to the scene to detonate the sealed bottle.

“I am calling on people to go about their normal lawful business, our team of experts has demolished the sealed bottle and there is no problem at all; people should go back to their businesses as the police are on top of the matter,” he said.
