Fake lawyer nabbed trying to defend kidnap suspect

A middle-aged man who stood as a lawyer in an open court to represent a kidnap suspect facing trial has been arrested in Delta State.

State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Mr. Lucky Uyabeme, who confirmed the arrest told newsmen that before his arrest, the accused had succeeded in duping the family of the kidnap suspect standing trial in one of the courts within the Warri axis.

According to him, “the arrested fake lawyer was adorned in the paraphernalia of a legal practitioner in the open court.

“He was arrested in the open court while attempting to represent the interest of a kidnapper awaiting trial, one Marker Godfrey.

“Information at our disposal further revealed that the fake lawyer had duped the family of the suspected kidnapper of N280,000 and other items yet to be estimated.”
