Teenagers accused of kidnapping baby

When neighbours get implicated in the kidnapping of your three-month old baby, along with teenagers, then there is serious cause for worry. In Nigeria, cases of kidnapping is now so rampant that people are beginning to see it as another form of business or avenue to quick wealth. However, a lot of people are not likely to suspect teenagers or their immediate neighbours to be involved in such acts. This is exactly what happened to Mr and Mrs Innocent Mgado on May 24, 2013, when their first child, a baby girl, was kidnapped with teenagers and their neighbours being implicated in the matter.

The First Information from the police showed that on May 24, 2013, at about 4pm, Mr Innocent, who is resident at Tafewa Balewa Court behind International Market went to the Abacha road Police station, Mararaba in Nasarawa State and reported that at about 8am on the same day, one Cletus Gabriel aged 18; Samsiya Tijani, 14; Destiny Chimezie, 24; Salim Zakariya,16; and Musa Ibrahim Mayaki, 20; conspired among themselves and aided one Melody, a female with surname and address yet unknown and now at large, and kidnapped his little girl, Wonderful Innocent, who is three months old to an unknown destination. The charges against the accused persons are said to be criminal conspiracy, aiding and abetting, and kidnapping contrary to sections 97, 85 and 273 of the Penal Code.
