Police arrests 3 Goat Thieves in Oyo State

Three suspected goat rustlers nabbed with 17 live goats were among the 20 suspects paraded by the Oyo State police command yesterday for various offences ranging from car theft, burglary, vandalisation of electricity cables to ATM fraud.

No fewer than 41 exotic cars and Sport Utility Vehicles (SUV), including a Honda Accord – commonly refered to in Nigeria as End of Discussion, with registration number LAGOS SMK 389 BT with an official sticker of The Sun Newspapers pasted on its windscreen, were recovered by the police.

The goat rustlers, according to the state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Kola Sodipo, were arrested with 17 live goats on October 8, this year, at about 2a.m while they were transporting the goats from Ogbomoso towards Oyo town. They were arrested by a team of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).

He stated that the policemen while on routine patrol sighted a Mazda 626 saloon car with marked Lagos JJJ 765 CY with three male occupants looking rough and suspicious.
